Event
Krista Baroni w/ Special Guest John Faraone
South East Connecticut based performing artist Krista Baroni brings soulful singing, folk guitar and intelligent lyrics to Pump House Music Works, for an intimate night of music.
A folk-oriented singer-songwriter, Krista takes her inspiration from 60s and 70s favorites like Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, and Cat Stevens. She cites influence by contemporary folk artists like Josh Ritter and Patti Griffin. She has released two full length albums, Oh My Magpie and her sophomore release, The Alabaster Girl, recorded in the style of the Laurel Canyon songwriters of the 70s.
Victor Infante of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette wrote the album is the most beautiful album I've heard in a long time. You need to understand that I'm not inclined to write that sentence hyperbolically. When I say that this album is beautiful, I don't just mean that it's soft and lilting on the ears, although it is. I mean that I find that each note makes me yearn for something something I lost years ago, or something I didn't realize was absent until just that moment. When I tell you this album is beautiful, I mean each note evokes a wistfulness in me that I can barely understand.
Opening the evening will be Rhode Island native and fellow singer-songwriter, John Faraone.
Show time is 7pm
