A review of pending ASTM test method and impact resistance standards for bollards and barriers when used to separate vehicular traffic from sidewalks, pedestrian areas, mall entrances and retail and other storefronts.

The use of bollards and barriers effectiveness in preventing vehicle incursions. Parking design and building construction moving away from head-in parking. ASTM is setting test and performance standards for bollards and barriers. International Building Code and National Building Code changes.
