¡Ay Chihuahua!
Following up the successful production of El Bracero, ¡Ay Chihuahua - A Mariachi Musical! will be staged at the brand new Rancho Campana High School Performing Arts Center in Camarillo, CA. All ticket sales and sponsorships will be used to help raise funds for local college scholarships.
The musical play tells the story of a young man traveling from León, Guanajuato, México to the U.S. border whose life is transformed in the great state of Chihuahua. The play is set in the late 1960s during Mexicos golden era of Ranchera music and will feature special performances by Mariachi Aguilas de Oxnard and Ballet Folklorico Mestizo from Oxnard College.
The cast and crew of ¡Ay Chihuahua! are home-grown talent, some of whom made their theatrical debut in El Bracero. Many are college students from the Ventura County Community College District.
¡Ay Chihuahua! was inspired by the Broadway musical Oklahoma! and has a little bit of everything for everyone - Drama, Excitement, Love and amazing Music by Mariachi Aguílas de Oxnard.
