"WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR " Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus X-Mas Concert
The Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus (OBACC) is a multicultural 40 voice choir that seeks to preserve the traditional African American Spiritual by giving voice in song to this historical, but seldom performed music. This year the chorus will perform 'Mary Sat A-Rockin'and 'Everybody's Comin'to Bethlehem Town'in the spiritual tradition. The chorus will also sing a version of 'Beautiful Savior' by candlelight. Maestro William "Bill" Bell is the founder and director of the chorus. Bell studied choral conducting with the eminent master choral conductor, Henry Veld while attending Augustana College. His love for choral music has remained steadfast while he also pursued a career a career as a jazz musician and professor at the COLLEGE of ALAMEDA. The OAKLAND BAY AREA COMMUNITY CHORUS allows Bell and many talented singers and soloists through out the SF Bay to meld their voices and talents in an exceptional musical experience that has become the CHRISTMAS MUSIC experience in the Bay Area.
