Central City Chorus presents "Around the World in 60 Minutes"
Central City Chorus, directed by Phillip Cheah, closes its 36th season with "Around the World in 60 Minutes", a choral survey of folk and popular songs from across the globe, including Sweden, Hungary, the Philippines, Argentina, Ukraine, Japan, Wales, Israel, Ireland, Poland, and more! The concert will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church on West 87th Street between Broadway and West End Avenue in Manhattan.
Featured works include "Sakura" and "Tsubasa" by Toru Takemitsu, "Buffalo Gals" by Libby Larsen, "La muerte del ángel" by Astor Piazzolla, "Szeroka Woda" by Henryk Górecki, "Dahil sa iyo" by Miguel Velarde, Jr., "Dúlamán" by Michael McMglynn, and other pieces by Francis Poulenc, Gustav Holst, Zoltán Kodály, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Ernst Toch, David Zehavi, and Heinrich Isaac.
