The Nuccio family are premiere growers of camellias and azaleas in Southern California. Nuccio Nurseries has sold over 600 varieties to the trade and the public since brothers Joe and Julius Nuccio began the horticultural business in 1935. Second generation Tom Nuccio will share his familys stories, the process of cultivating new varieties, and the changes hes seen in the business through the years. The 1901 Cudahy Craftsman is touted as the Grandest Bungalow in all of Southern California. Edna and John Jack P. Cudahy, the son of the millionaire meat-packer, Michael Cudahy, engaged architect Charles W. Buchanan to build their 11,000 square foot home in Pasadena when they moved from Kansas City at the turn of the century. A former Pasadena Showcase House of Design will be opened for this lecture.
