YVC Playmasters presents THE TAMING OF THE SHREW
THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, one of William Shakespeare's comedies is believed to have been written between 1590 and 1592. The main plot depicts the courtship of Petruchio and Katherine, the headstrong shrew. Initially, Katherine is an unwilling participant in the relationship, but Petruchio attempts to temper and "Tame" her with various tactics and torments, this along with Katherine's continued resistance, and her sister, Bianca's, various suitors vying for her love, all combine to create this Shakespearean comedy. THE TAMING OF THE SHREW has been adapted numerous times for stage, screen, opera, ballet, and as a Broadway musical, KISS ME KATE. YVC Playmasters is excited to give this classic battle of the sexes comedy a more modern twist by setting it in the 1940's just after the end of World War II
The cast includes: Lindsay Soules as Katherine, Cody Jordan as Petruchio, Yanelly Avila as Bianca, Juan Serrano as Lucentio, Steven Macias as Grumio and Kali Abrams, Erin Smith, Evan Garfein, Rebecca Fuchs, Tiffany Allen, Harlow Adams, Danica Jenck, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Hunter Bosley.
