New Old Time Chautauqua Memorial Day Orcas Island Benefit
This amazing wonderful and laugh-filled variety show will be the 2nd annual Memorial Day Benefit at Eastsound's Odd Fellows Hall. Featured in the show this year are the Flying Karamazov Brothers, Thaddeus Spae (world famous composer and singer/songwriter), Poki Mccorkle (amazing steel hoop artist and mime), Joey Pipia (incredible magician's magician from Port Townsend via New York City), Artis the Spoonman (the one featured in Soundgarden's hit song and video), and many more artists. Also, as always the show will be powered by the Fighting Instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra.
The show benefits the New Old Time Chautauqua (NOTC) whose mission is to engender community through education, entertainment, and laughter in rural communities throughout the Greater Northwest. NOTC is not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. It is an intergenerational all volunteer organization of educators, entertainers, and staff. NOTC was established in 1981 and is part of the great Chautauqua movement.
This year Chautauqua is doing two projects. The Hands Across the Border project with the Blackfoot Confederacy both in the US and Canada from June 9-25. This will be followed the NOTC East Oregon Tour from July 11 - 31.
