Random Acts of Comedy
Random Acts of Comedy is a grab bag of jokes. Reach into the basement of The Corner Bar and get a handful of laughs. The CCUG is presenting three rising stars in the Minneapolis comedy scene. Each comic was put in the line-up because of how different they are from the others. The line-up has something for everyone. First up we have:
LIZ DONEHUE
Liz Donehue isn't afraid to trade punches with her male counterparts. In fact she's hitting harder than most them and taking aim at the audience's funny bone. She's not just a "funny chic comic" she is a funny comic. She is able to balance the line of charm and crass like a veteran with decades of stage time. A finalist in this year's Acme Funniest Person Contest, Liz has made the most of her first year of Stand-Up. She is a comic that you will be seeing around town more often.
JOSH FLORHAUG
Remember that kid you beat up in high school? Well, he is back and leaving nothing behind. Josh Florhaug takes you on an adventure through the life of a guy who does things a little differently and keeps you laughing the whole time. Josh gives a timid take on topics such as high school, culinary school and dating. Josh is a rising star in the Minneapolis comedy scene and a must-see act all over the Midwest.
GREG COLEMAN
No one has moved up the comedy ranks faster than Greg Coleman. It was less than two years ago when Greg did his first open mic and he is now hosting events and closing shows. "Greg Coleman is the best riff comic in Minneapolis," - some no name comic recently said. Well that person is a no name but they are right. Greg has the improv ability to feed of the energy of crowd and to change his whole set on the fly. His scripted material ranges from pop culture (Wacka Flacka's pets) to the civil rights movement. If you have half as much fun watching him perform as he has performing, you will not be disappointed.
