SAMFest 2017 Port Townsend

SAMFest 2017, a celebration of community through music and arts, is August 24-27th. This year bands will be travelling north and south from Oregon and Canada to share their rhythms along with our local talent. 4 days and 3 nights of camping, performance art with workshops, morning yoga, kids activities and informational presentations will add to the experience. Food vendors and local artisans will be on-site. A beer garden with a true Pacific Northwest flavor will be open to those with valid 21+ ID. You are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs. The night time music will also have a light show by Nth Degree Productions. DJs for your late night dancing. Please don't bring the dogs.

Previously called Boomfest in Port Townsend, which had a long and beautiful tradition in the town, has been renamed. The many community builders that have been involved have made an indelible stamp on our hearts and souls. For the past two years, Boomfest has been organized by Jeff Pang of The High Council and with the fabulous Cath and Damon of The Dragon's Nest, where the event takes place.

This year the same 3 people are bringing you the festival! A more multi-community, more inclusive feel is evolving. The festival has been renamed SAM Fest. SAM, an acronym for Solidarity through Art and Music, will allow the the organizers to bring a broader audience to the event. It also gives us a way to honor our friend Sam Smith, who passed before his time and inspired many with his words and kindness.
