Catarina New Martin
Swedish born Saxophonist and vocalist Catarina New received a Masters degree in music and worked a few years in Sweden before coming to New York for Jazz studies. As a saxophonist for Mercedes Benz Car shows, she resided in Los Angeles where she performed with many of LAs notable Jazz musicians. She studied at USC (Masters of Jazz) and freelanced in California for 15 years before making her home in Portland Oregon. Catarina has been composing music since her late teens. From the late nineties, shes been leading her own band in L.A. and now Portland, featuring her music that has strong roots in Brazilian music through her inspiration from her father.
