Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble
Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble presents a concert of Old World klezmer music, the musical tradition of the Ashkenazi (eastern European) Jews, including exuberant Freilach melodies. They will also perform Yiddish songs of love, comradeship, and resistance to tyranny, sung by the early 20th century Jewish settlers of Petaluma; and enchanting songs of courtship, yearning and humor from the repertory of the Sephardic Jews, in their original native Ladino language.
Guest singer, Alby Kass will perform the Yiddish songs, complete with colorful elaboration, and his son, Larry will perform the Sephardic songs in Ladino.
