Nuestro Barrio, Plaza de la Raza/CAP Youth Theater Production
Set in 1877 Los Angeles, Nuestro Barrio is a play of the life of a small village, El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de Los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula about three decades after the signing of the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Guided by the iconic figure of La Muerte, our story tells of the life of Emilia and Jorge and their families and neighbors, who grow from childhood, to adolescence, to adulthood, and beyond, within the borders of their neighborhood and their city as their traditional Mexican L.A. undergoes a momentous change.
