Join us for an evening with Maria Provencher of the Freeway Lace Guild. Provencher's presentation will focus on mesh background laces and how to tell the difference between handmade and antique machine-made lace. Samples of lace from Provencher's collection will be displayed and distributed amongst the audience for close up viewing. Types of lace that will be discussed include bobbin lace (Chantilly, Lille, Bucks Point, and Blonde), needle lace (Alencon and Point de Gaze), and other net laces (Brussels Applique, Brussels Mixed, Carrickmacross, Limerick, and Hand Embroidered Net).
If you are a Gold Needle Textile Arts Council member, and you would like to use one or both of your complementary lecture tickets, please email mturner@pasadenahistory.org
Tickets include entrance to the Exhibition Galleries, which will open at 5:30 pm, and light refreshments will be served at 6:00 pm prior to the lecture.
