Benefit for "Thursdays at Noon" Chamber Concerts
Since 2000, a small group of the NYC Ballet Orchestra musicians have offered summer chamber concerts at The Arts Center on Thursdays during the Ballets residencies at SPAC. The series actually began a few years before that at The Adelphi Hotel, and then moved across the street as The Arts Center emerged from the old Saratoga Springs Library building. These annual concerts have provided the community rare and cherished opportunities to see and hear these extraordinary musicians in an intimate setting, and have become a valued supplement to the full-scale ballet performances of SPACs classical season.
Please join us on Thursday, May 25th for performances, refreshments, and conversation at an event to help support the upcoming season. The event will take place at 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs in the Dee Sarno Theater at Saratoga Arts.
The series Artistic Director, Luellen Abdoo, violinist, will be joined by highly acclaimed pianist, Christopher Oldfather, in a special program of works by Stravinsky, Mozart, Saint-Saƫns, and a wonderful Tango composed by NYC Ballet Principal Bass/Composer Ron Wasserman. Chris will also graciously perform selected works from Chopin.
Tickets for this special event will be $35 for one or $50 for two people.
