Graves at Sea, The Drip
GRAVES AT SEA was formed in 2002 by friends Nick Phit and Nathan Misterek, with then-members Roger Williams & Steve Klatz (RIP). After self-releasing the demo titled Documents of Grief, they toured extensively and were quickly noticed by Greg Anderson of Southern Lord/Sunn, who released their 7 Cirrohosis/Atavist Arise in 2004. Later in 2005 the band released a split with friends Asunder on Life is Abuse (CD) and 20 Buck Spin (vinyl). In 2007 GRAVES AT SEA went through a line up change when Nathan moved to Oakland and Nick moved to Portland, OR. After playing two final shows with Chiyo Nukaga (Noothgrush) on drums and Miguel Veliz (ex-Sourvein, The Roller) on bass, the band broke up in 2008. In 2012, however, they decided to reunite with Chiyo on drums and Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil) on bass, but due to touring constraints, Chiyo and Greg decided to step down.
2013 marked the bands first venture to Europe with a lengthy tour, as well as a string of West Coast performances. 2014 brought forth their first new material since 2005 GRAVES AT SEA released a split LP with Sourvein on Seventh Rule records at the start of their second European tour (this time with Sourvein), a trek that also included appearances at Roadburn Festival and SWR Festival. The split with Sourvein was quickly followed by an EP on Eolian Records titled This Place Is Poison and numerous live US performances, including performances at Maryland Deathfest and Californias Day of the Shred Festival.
https://www.facebook.com/thedripgrind Formed in 2007, Washington States audio-terrorists THE DRIP set out to transform the legacy of Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Rotten Sound and Brutal Truth into a modern and uncompromising grind assault of face-ripping blasts and sonic brutality.
Seizing the attention of grind-advocates Grindcore Karaoke, their S/T debut EP and The Wasteland EP soon established their reputation as the Northwests fastest hate-mongers. A series of high-octane live assaults only furthered their infamy among grindfreaks and led to their signing with legendary extreme metal label Relapse Records. 2014 saw the release of A Presentation of Gruesome Poetics, their debut EP for Relapse. A vicious display of skull-crushing, barbaric grind, the album was produced and engineered by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust.
Since their signing to Relapse, THE DRIP has continued to tour and play with established acts like Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Poison Idea, Magrudergrind, Black Breath, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Power Trip in addition to appearing on numerous festivals including Denver Black Sky, Crucial Fest and Southwest Terror Fest.
2017 will mark ten years since THE DRIP's first collective grind and with it comes the release of their long-awaited debut LP, The Haunting Fear of Inevitability. Fusing together the rawest elements of crust, powerviolence, d-beat and grind, THE DRIP rip and ravage through thirteen frenzied tracks, chock-full of slaughterhouse riffage, lightning fast blastbeats and pulverizing breakdowns. Once again produced by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust and mastered by Brad Boatright (Skeletonwitch, Gatecreeper, Weekend Nachos), The Haunting Fear of Inevitability is a new declaration of intensity that is sure to set the underground ablaze!
