David Wax Museum (duo) House Concert in Cambridge
David Wax Museum is a folk and roots rock band blending traditional Mexican folk music with Americana in what they call Mexo-Americana. With NPR hailing them as "pure, irresistible joy" and raves everywhere from SPIN and Entertainment Weekly to the New York Times and The Guardian (which dubbed the music "global crossover at its best") they've earned invitations to support The Avett Brothers, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Buena Vista Social Club, and more.
Here's your chance to catch a rare, intimate show of the band's founders, David Wax and partner Suz Slezak, on their first tour with two kids in tow. The band regularly plays The Sinclair, but they got their start playing smaller rooms around Cambridge. For this special concert, the duo returns to their acoustic roots and will be playing songs from throughout the band's 10-year-catalog.
The show's host, Dan Hogan, has a long history with the band, having first hired them to play his 65th birthday party nine years ago. He was the Executive Director of Club Passim when David & Suz played there with great regularity.
