Frog Holler
Enjoy an evening at Wyebrook Farm with your favorite Berks County Boys, Frog Holler.
"Neo-hillbillies with a twist, Frog Holler plays mountain blues and country as accessible and modern as the most hummable pop" (The Washington Post)
"the Berks County outfit have managed to stay together and procure scads of acclaim-from NPR, No Depression, The Washington Post and countless others-thanks largely to the down-home sweetness of their loose, melodic strain of alt-country. But it's also because the guys are genuine, playing what they like instead of burying their instincts in pretense or posturing. (Doug Wallen Philly Weekly)
Darren Schlappich is a real-deal storyteller, mixing everyday language and creative phrasing to produce vivid, exciting images that make you smile, tug on your heart, offer hard-earned wisdom - or do all three. Sweet melodies, rock crunch, and varied instrumentation make songs you can't get out of your head. All this band has to offer is talent, great songs, and consistency. (No Depression)
well-written, well-played, mark them as special." (Sylvie Simmons Mojo)
works brooding soundscapes as easily as classic bluegrass with an ear catching shimmer. (Paste Magazine)
Great songwriting, deliriously entertaining live act (The Village Voice)
"as apt to produce a belly laugh as a tear, but sure to make you feel something every time." (Cosmik Debris)
SUMMER STARLIGHT SERIES We had so much fun with the Summer Starlight Series last year that we decided to do it again and expand it a bit! One or two Thursday nights per month this summer, we will host a special evening concert in the Courtyard starting at 7pm. Tickets are $10/person in advance or $15/person day of show (kids under 5 are free). We will have physical tickets for sale in the Market or you can buy them online by clicking the links below. We are only selling up to 300 tickets for each concert, so we highly encourage you to buy them early.
SCHEDULE OF SHOWS May 18 The Bluegrass Company June 1 John Train w/The Youngers June 15 Beaucoup Blue w/Voodoo Deville June 29 Neo Pangea (Dead Tribute Band) July 13 Chris Kasper w/ Anna Egge Trio July 27 Frog Holler August 10 Hoots & Hellmouth August 24 Hezekiah Jones w/Tin Bird Choir
Food: There are two options that night: The indoor seating in our Market that night is available by reservations here and will have our normal dinner menu. If you make a reservation, you will be inside. You will not have to purchase a ticket but will not hear the music. All outdoor tables will require purchased tickets for the concert. Reservations for the concert are not required or available. Outdoor concert seating will be available on a first come, first served basis; doors opening at 6pm. We will offer table service (with waitstaff) for our seated guests in our courtyard, under the pavilion, and in overflow seating down below the wall near the stage. We will be featuring a special, limited menu prepared only for our Summer Starlight Concert Series. Limited lawn seating will be available- guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair. As always, Wyebrook is a BYOB but outside food is NOT permitted for this event.
Parking: We will open one of our pastures for parking, handicap parking available located closer to the Market. Valid handicap parking permit is required.
Dogs: You are welcome to bring your dog to Wyebrook Farm, but we do require that your dog is friendly, on a leash at all times and that you pick up after them.
Children: Because we have a very limited amount of seats for these concerts, children are welcome but everyone over 5 will need a ticket.
Weather: We will do our best to keep the shows on because most of the bands are traveling a good distance to come play at Wyebrook. However, in the event of a cancelation due to severe weather, purchased tickets will be refunded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
