Still Dance the Stars
New Light Theater Project & Chicago Dramatists present Still Dance the Stars, a new play by Jayme McGhan with direction by Sarah Norris. Previews begin August 25th with opening slated for August 27th, located at 1105 W. Chicago Avenue.
Six years after their viral marriage proposal video swept the internet, James and Anne begrudgingly prepare for yet another nationally televised interview with a notoriously difficult TV anchor. The night before the interview, James and Anne drunkenly battle for and against their marriage using a box of stuffed animals won from various carnivals as symbolic characters from their real lives.
One special stuffed animal, Hope the Hippo, makes it her quest to rekindle the flame of love that James and Anne once shared.
Still Dance the Stars is a hilarious, touching, and highly theatrical story about the struggles of love in the face of unthinkable loss.
The cast include: Michael Aguirre, Claudia Campbell, Bethany Geraghty, Carl Jaynes, Kaycee Jordan, Courtney Knysch, Martel Manning, Dana Martin, and Ariana SepĂșlveda.
The production team includes: Choreography by Ashlee Wasmund, Scenic & Costume Design by Ashleigh Poteat, Lighting Design by John Kelly, Sound Design by Andy Evan Cohen, Technical Direction by Alan Weusthoff, Technical Support by Justin Glombicki, Stage Management by Becs Bartle, and Press Representation by The Heron Agency
