Consciousness and the Cosmic Mind -- Josephine Laing

Are we machines? How about all the other life forms: are they machines, too? Since the 1700's our scientific world view seems to promote this idea. This viewpoint is used to justify a perception that only a technical model works for healing, and behind the perception that widespread use of factory farming for food production is a good option.
In this course, we will take a look at moving beyond this limited perception of reality and consider a new and yet ancient perspective, one where we reflect upon a shared fundamental consciousness, a consciousness that pervades the universe.
Bringing forth ideas from both physics and metaphysics, Josephine Laing will present a new view of our human awareness that embraces a beauty of mind that pervades everything.
She will provide handouts and also lead participants in a meditative exercise designed to embrace an expanded sense of interconnectedness and oneness. Together we will explore what the Greek philosopher Plotinus referred to as the world soul permeating the universe and imbuing everything, including ourselves, with celestial beauty.
Hopefully this course will help you to see the sacred in everything, from the rocks and stones, to plants and animals, and even the whole of the Cosmos itself.
Josephine Laing has been teaching classes in spiritual studies, bringing self-empowerment to individuals wishing to explore deeper aspects of themselves for thirty years. Ms. Laing holds a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in Horticulture and is a life-long organic gardener and herbologist. As an accomplished presenter, she has a weekly on-line international radio show called Step Into Magic on deepening spirituality, developing inner guidance and embracing purpose in our lives.
