The Maydays Improvising Shakespeare Workshop
Get to grips with Shakespeare in a very different way by making it up.
Learn how to improvise using style, character and language techniques to create the scenes Shakespeare never wrote. We will guide you, using specially developed games and exercises, to refine your Shakespearean improv skills. Expect to improve your verbal dexterity, emotional range, natural playing and presence, as well as your grasp of iambic pentameter and rich metaphor - useful for actors performing Shakespeare's works, improvisers performing in his style, as well as anyone who wants to improve their improvised language skills.
You'll experience gravitas and beauty, gentle irreverence and hilarity. Some previous improvisation or acting training or experience required. 6 hours with a short break for lunch.
