Bad September is a steampunk art rock band from Minneapolis.
Steampunk is a science fiction genre that depicts an alternate world filled with futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them, such as in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne. Bad September uses clever lyrics and catchy melodies to imagine fictional stories of love, adventure, airships and ion guns in a Neo-Victorian world on the brink of war.
Bad September has performed at venues such as the Turf Club, Amsterdam Bar, Kitty Cat Klub, Bedlam Theatre, Southern Theatre, Minnesota History Center, St. Paul Central Library, Bryant-Lake Bowl, CONvergence, and the Phoenix Theater. Bad September has two albums: THE BRITISH EP, featuring 5 songs about a Communist uprising in England; and AUSTRIA-HUNGARY 1957, with 11 tracks about the final days of an aristocratic Europe. We are currently in the midst of recording our third album: THE SECOND OPIUM WARS.
Featuring John Heimbuch on vocals & percussion, Marc Gutman on bass & vocals, Keith Prusak on guitar & percussion, Charles Borchert on piano, Elizabeth Borchert on cello & vocals, and Michael Borchert on guitar & viola.
This will be your final chance to catch Bad September prior to the imminent departure of Michael & Elizabeth Borchert for a two-year stint in Singapore!
