Alba is an eleven-year-old who has learned how to deal with her mother's illness, spending most of her time in silence playing by herself. When her mother has to be taken to the hospital and there is no one else to care for Alba, she moves in with her father, whom she hasn't seen since she was three years old. Her father, Igor, is a very lonely man, almost a hermit, who isolated himself in his old small house after separating from his family. Living with her father is almost unbearable for Alba because he reminds her of everything she feels insecure about: shame, her first kiss, visiting her mother in the hospital. Igor's tender efforts to get close to her and her experience being bullied at school pave Alba's journey to adolescence and to self-acceptance.
