Acclaimed singer/songwriter Linda Viens (Angeline, Witch Doctor, Crown Electric Company, Boston Rock Opera) teams up with veteran composer/producer Richard Lamphear, in this dynamic new project fusing rocked-out electronic beats with world-class pop savvy. Drawing from a background including collabs with the likes of Mark Sandman and Tanya Donelly, Kingdom of Love invites you to celebrate the release of their debut mini-LP, Ghosts.
Parlor Bells Goddamn Glenn, the singing-songwriting creative force behind Boston's Parlour Bells, has drawn comparisons to Bowie and Perry Farrell, crooning romantic anthems against sexy guitar riffs, channeling a golden rock era when the frontman captivated the audience with operatic vocal gusto, androgynous fluidity and was always dressed to kill!
In 2012, Parlour Bells performed at the 33rd Rock N' Roll Rumble, a time honored tradition championed by host of Boston Emissions on 100.7FM WZLX, Anngelle Wood. Making their presence felt in Boston, Parlour Bells was invited to perform at the historic sendoff concert for beloved alternative rock station 101.7FM WFNX at Paradise Rock Club. Parlour Bells performed with veteran acts Orbit and O Positive.
2013's Thank God for the Night EP was called "a bedtime story for adults who never go to bed" by Boston Phoenix and Vanyaland Music Editor Michael Marotta, and features Dana Colley of Morphine on saxophone on the track "You Don't Wear That Dress, The Dress Wears You." The EP also earned two "song of the year" distinctions from Boston Herald Music Editor Jed Gottlieb.
Parlour Bells' first music video "Bachelor Hours," directed and edited by Goddamn Glenn, earned a 2013 Boston Music Awards nomination for Video of the Year. In 2014, the band earned their second Boston Music Awards nomination for Live Artist of the Year. Parlour Bells has been named one of Boston's best live acts by The Improper Bostonian and CBS.
In 2015, the band opened for iconic 80s act Culture Club at Boston's Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. Glenn is currently at work on what will be the band's first full length album, expected in 2017. The album's first two singles "Sleep When I'm Dead" and "Never Let 'Em Hold Ya Back!" are available now.
Of the new single which premiered on Vanyaland, Michael Marotta says, "With its late-80s alt-rock funk grove, seductive croon, and full-platter sax and trumpet brass attack, Never Let Em Hold Ya Back speaks to that tenacity...it represents not only a new era for the project, but also a recharged energy." Vanyaland went on to name Never Let Em Hold Ya Back one of their favorite 16 songs of 2016.
Recently, "Never Let Em' Hold Ya Back" was included in the latest update to RockBand 4 where Glenn also appears in a mockumentary featured in the game! Parlour Bells is completing its latest release Waylaid in the Melée, due later this year.
Lost Lake Noir rock from the fantastic new band!
