The Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center presents their new film project documenting the stories of San Francisco's diverse and invaluable residents - Cinematic SF. There will be 4 screenings of Cinematic SF at community venues throughout the city of San Francisco, with special appearances by the filmmakers, the films' subjects, and guest speakers and performers
Cinematic SF @ Mission Cultural Center | May 10, 7PM The Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center (APICC) brings the new local film project CINEMATIC SF to San Franciscos Mission district, celebrating the citys creative diversity and illuminating stories of displacement and gentrification. Featured film No Vacancy chronicles the experiences of local artists who strive to live in San Francisco while facing economic challenges and threat of eviction. Profiled artists include two who were part of a group of artists recently evicted from the art studio in the Beast on Bryant building, now being developed for new housing.
Cinematic SF @ Mission Cultural Center on May 10 will feature the films of Cinematic SF, a talk on artists communities and displacement, and a special performance from Fogo Na Roupa. The films will be preceded by additional local shorts produced by Bay Area Video Coalitions media students.
