Pottery Making: Wheel, Hand-building, and Decorating
This fun and supportive workshop caters to all levels of experience in clay. We will focus on making plates and platters through wheel and slab construction using decorative techniques to create unique, personal, and functional tableware. A glaze applied to your piece will make it food safe. Allow 2 weeks for your work to dry and go through the firing process before you may take it home. Returning students and/or those staying for all four days will earn how to throw larger on the wheel, as well as use slab construction for building other functional forms.
Class is part of Landis Valley's 2017 Summer Institute. Class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Please note that prices include a catered breakfast and lunch in the Yellow Barn each day for Institute participants. If you choose to forgo the meals, please choose the 'no meals option' pricing.
Students must be age 18 or older. Please visit our website, www.landisvalleymuseum.org, for more information on Institute. Landis Valley Associates (LVA) members receive 5% off their registration.
