A Christmas Carol
Part Mystery, Part Thriller, Part Comedy, Part Delightful Horror Story! Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' has since it was published, delighted, inspired and enthralled generations throughout the world. It has been adapted into a wide range of theatrical plays, movies, television shows, operas and ballets, even the Muppets have produced their own version! This new adaptation strives to fit the world that Dickens saw, and the story he told. It is a lively entertaining, enthralling and magical production. It combines all that the story evokes, weaving a tale of one man's journey from near damnation to redemption and Salvation all through the magical work of the Spirits of Christmas. Set against the backdrop of industrial London in 1843 at Christmas time, a time as Scrooge's nephew describes 'as a good time, a kind time, a forgiving time, the only time of the year when men and women open their shut up hearts freely.' However in this time of hope, faith and good will, in the heart of one man, Ebeneezer Scrooge, it is a cold, dark and empty place. Fortunately the ghost of his old friend Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas have other plans, to save Scrooge from himself. The race for redemption is on, using Scrooge's own life to show him the way to Christmas Cheer! This play will leave you with a smile on your face, hope in your heart and good cheer for one and all. A treat for all the family but with a story that is as relevant now as it was when Dickens told the tale in 1843.
