Monteverdi at 450

Celebrating the 450th anniversary of one of the greatest composers of all time, Musica Antica Rotherhithe perform works from across Claudio Monteverdi's lifetime, from some of his earliest madrigals to his later stageworks, culminating in a semi-staged performance of one of his often overlooked courtly entertainments: the Ballo delle Ingrate.

Featuring a full band of 5 singers, two baroque violins, a viole da braccio, theorbo, baroque cello and harspichord, this is our biggest project yet, with our musicians coming from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Westminster Abbey and celebrated consort Passamezzo. Still we endeavor to keep ticket prices as low as possible, so they will be just £2 more, at £12 on the door or £10 online!
