(Reno, NV) Brüka Theatre ARTIST IN THE HOUSE SERIES presents Cami Thompsons Vocal Production Workshop for Actors, Singers, Teachers, and Speakers. Whether you are a working actor or an aspiring one, a pro singer or a work-in-progress, a professional or amateur speaker, a litigating lawyer, or a teacher who needs to use your voice to speak above the noise in school or workout classes this workshop is for YOU!
You are invited to participate in singer/actor/director/voice teacher Cami Thompsons 3-hour Vocal Production Workshop. It will be held at Brüka Theatre on Sunday April 30th from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Cami will be sharing her knowledge and experience of the Vox Humana, drawing from her 40+ years as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, recording artist, music producer and music director. Singer and speakers of all levels interested in honing their vocal capabilities for theater, stage, studio, school, classroom, courtroom, pulpit, or lectern will learn and understand the basic Mechanics of the Human Voice. These primary physical actions breathing, phonation, resonance, and articulation - are the foundation of your unique, one-in-7.5 billion voice, and Cami can teach you how to use it with ease and power through your new knowledge, awareness, focus, and the repetition of exercises.
The cost of this workshop has been kept at a minimum thanks to funding from The Nevada Arts Council to be accessible to all who wish to improve the use of their voice. $10 for the 3-hour clinic. Open to ages 12 and up. Wear comfortable clothes to move in, but not too loose, so Cami can see the movement of your throat, chest and abdomen. BRING A YOGA MAT OR BLANKET, AND BRING WATER!
This workshop will be held at Brüka Theatre, 99 N. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501.

Brükas Artist In The House Series features local, regional and national artists presenting their work to further the education and inspiration of the arts in the form of workshops, discussions and performances for our community. Brüka Theatre has collaborated with VSA Arts and The Kennedy Center. Past Artists have included: Mark Growden, Ananda Bena Weber, Lady Hull, Alexander Biber, Rachel Lopez, Sandra Neace, Cami Thompson, Mary Bennett and Holly Natwora presenting. The Artist In The House Series is funded by: Bruka Theatre, The City Of Reno, The Nevada Arts Council, The City Of Reno and The National Endowment For The Arts.
ABOUT THE ARTIST - CAMI THOMPSON During her residency with Brüka, Cami is our Music Director for the plays throughout the season that have music in them, culminating in our summer Broadway hit pop-rock opera musical, Next To Normal, opening July 7th. Cami teaches privately at her home here in Reno, if you wish to pursue your vocal development.
Delightfully spirited singer, actress, songwriter, arranger, voice teacher, clinician and band leader CAMI THOMPSON has been singing professionally around the world for over four decades -- in concert halls, jazz festivals, theaters, night clubs, and private performances. She has gained a reputation for wowing audiences with her strong voice of intense beauty, control and passion, and her funny and witty repartee with her audiences. Cami has appeared as opening act for the Manhattan Transfer, Nancy Wilson, Mel Torme, Lou Rawls, and others. She has performed at hundreds of jazz festivals across the US and in Europe, and in lead theatrical roles in over 25 musicals, including Sweeney Todd, Mame, Annie, Full Monty, Company, Follies, Showboat, Annie Get Your Gun, Jesus Christ Superstar, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Hair, and Candide. You can find her singing with her own jazz bands: from solo piano accompaniment to jazz trio to her 7-piece swing band "Cami & The Cosmopolitans" to big band, as well as performing as guest artist with bands around the country. She has co-produced 6 of her own albums, has appeared on dozens of others, and has won several awards for her entertainment skills. Cami also teaches privately, coaches performers and presents clinics.
