Angry Orchard + E.Z. Orchards - CIDERMAKER DINNER SERIES
Join us for our Cidermaker Dinner Series, wherein notable cidermakers pair their ciders in an intimate setting. This evening, well be drinking older and yet-to-be-released vintages from Oregon's E.Z. Orchards, and Hudson Valley-based Angry Orchard.
Ryan Burk currently heads up Angry Orchard's experimental orchard-cidery-visitor center in Walden, NY. There, he is crafting small batch ciders to test out new recipes, ingredients and techniques, and to push the boundaries of barrel aging and wild fermentation. Wassail's Dan Pucci is particularly excited to showcase Ryan's vintages, indicating that they are among the most thoughtful and experimental ciders he has had in recent years.
The Zielinski family of E.Z. Orchards has been farming in Oregon's Willamette Valley since the 1870s, and producing cider since 2000. Kevin Zielinski is among the most celebrated artisan ciders in America. Made from French, English, and early American apple varieties, the juice is fermented in the traditional French method requiring diligent care of the fruit prior to harvest. The natural effervescence is due to pétillant naturale, a complement to the individual character of his cider.
Join us for a four-course family style meal paired with eight ciders from both Angry Orchard and E.Z. Orchards. Cidermakers Ryan and Kevin will in attendance.
