Audiences who love Astrud Gilberta, Alison Krauss, Brandi Carlile, Joni Mitchell, and kd lang will love Elaine Lucia's music. It's a blend of the beautiful bossa nova feel of Brazilian jazz classics mixed with simple folk finger-picking guitar style of Americana songs. Add the pure, clear voice that Elaine is renowned for, songs that tell stories of love, hope, nostalgia and longing, and beautiful, haunting melodies... and you have a unique and unforgettable musical experience.
Elaine and her group were picked by Michael Bolton to be his opening act at the Lincoln Theater in Napa, Billy Cobham at the Uptown Theatre (Napa),and Elaine has opened for Al Stewart and Charlie Musselwhite/Elvin Bishop. She's performed at Yoshi's (San Francisco and Oakland) as a headliner, and played hundreds of nightclub, festival and concert shows over the past many years in the Bay Area and West Coast.
After decades as a professional jazz vocalist, Elaine has embarked on a new musical path; she now primarily performs her large repertoire of original songs she composed for guitar and voice. Joined by the same veteran jazz musicians she has performed and recorded with in the Bay Area for decades, Elaine formed a new ensemble that blends her years of jazz performing with her impressive guitar and writing skills. The result is, as Elaine likes to call it, "just beautiful music!"
