The Practical Chocolatier
The most delicious chemistry class you'll ever take. Making chocolate candies is a controlled balance in chemistry, attainable by anyone with patience. Dr. Susan Richman will teach you how to make creamy and crunchy centers such as salt caramels, toffees, brittles, opera creams, marshmallow, barks and peanut butter cups. And, most importantly, you'll temper chocolate and enrobe centers. (Take home chocolates that survive the tastings.)
Class is part of Landis Valley's 2017 Summer Institute. Class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
Please note that prices include a catered breakfast and lunch in the Yellow Barn each day for Institute participants. If you choose to forgo the meals, please choose the 'no meals option' pricing.
Students must be age 18 or older. Please visit our website, www.landisvalleymuseum.org, for more information on Institute.
