Steve Sweeney: Townie
Comedian/actor Steve Sweeneys keen dialect and character skills have made him a key figure in Bostons cultural landscape. In his well-received one-man show, he regales his audiences with stories from his life-long journey, to the backdrop of neighborhoods, the old Boston Theater District, and other landmarks.
Sweeney was raised in hard-scrabble, colorful Charlestown, and has carried its influences with him through a career that's included nearly 25 films, national television appearances, radio hosting, and thousands of nights headlining Boston's best comedy clubs. He has been a featured on major television shows including David Letterman, Evening at the Improv, Comics Come Home and Comedy Central, and starred in his own Boston-based sitcom, Park Street Under. His trademark political satire has earned him top host spots on Boston radio stations 100.7FM WZLX (Sweeneys Neighborhood) and 95.9FM WATD (Jay Mohr and Opie & Anthony.)
