Jazz-A-F!RE
The Memphis Black Arts Alliance is delighted to present some of the BEST artist in the Greater Memphis area and beyond at Jazz-A-F!RE, held Every Last Sunday of the month from 4-7pm at the Beautiful Brinson's Restaurant & Lounge, located at 341 Madison Avenue, Downtown Memphis. This month, as we begin our year-long 35th Anniversary Celebration, we welcome home the Southern Soul and Blues Diva herself, Miss Toni Green!
Toni Green, a Memphis native, began her singing career in 1970 at the infamous Hi-Records with Imported Moods. She recorded her first solo record Mixed Emotions in 1998 with legendary producer Willie Mitchell. She went on to sing backup with Luther Vandross and Isaac Hayes, toured, and performed in a duo with Dennis Edwards of the Temptations. This award winning singing sensation has toured the world, opening for such acts as Carlos Santana, Dionne Warwick and Solomon Burke. She currently lives part time in Paris, France and recently released another long awaited recording with R&B Group Malted Milk, entitled Milk & Green.
Memphis Black Arts Alliances Jazz-A-F!RE is hosted by the Spectacular Cequita Monique along with the cool sounds of Prime Cut Trio, and DJ Cbeyohn as they usher us into the land of Smooth Jazz! Our monthly featured guest artists croon us further up the road and then we end the evening by inviting you, our audience, to join the band on stage in our BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument) full-out jam session! There is nothing in the city like Jazz-A-F!RE!
Come Join Us on Sunday April 30th as we welcome home The Illustrious Toni Green at Memphis Black Arts Alliances Jazz-A-F!RE, beginning at 4pm, at Brinson"s Restaurant & Lounge Downtown, 341 Madison Avenue!
