2017 SPRING MASTERCLASS #1: WESLEY J. COLFORD
The Artistic Director of the Highland Arts Theatre starts off our Spring Masterclass Series with a 5 hour intensive on professional auditioning for the theatre.
The first hour will consist of a lecture style information session on auditioning etiquette, strategies, and professional practice, followed by a warm up. After that, ten "Core Participants" will have the chance to audition in front of the entire group with their choice of one monologue or musical theatre song (pianist will be provided). Wesley will workshop their audition and provide re-direct. Once all ten core participants have auditioned, there will be an hour of Q&A with core participants and auditors.
Interested parties are highly encouraged to "audit" as there is as much (or more) to be learned from watching this process as taking part directly. Auditors will get to experience auditions "from the other side of the table".
Core Participants who wish to sing should choose a song from a published musical and bring sheet music for a piano accompianist. All participants should dress comfortably and be prepared to move gently.
May 7, 1PM to 6PM
Ages 14 and up
Only ten spots for full participants!
