On-Farm Soils Class
Doug Collins is an Extension Faculty with WSU's Small Farms Program and an affiliate faculty with the WSU Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. His extension programs and research focus on soil quality and vegetable and fruit production for small farms. Doug is an active instructor in Ecological Soil Management for beginning and advanced producers. Doug's research program is focused on organic vegetable cropping systems and managing and monitoring soil fertility.
Class is from 10am-3pm
Topics Include: Basic Soil Science Soil Fertility Soil Texture By Hand On-Farm Soil Quality Soil Sampling Interpreting Soil Test Results (Web Soil Surveys)
Participants encouraged to bring soil samples or soil test results from their farms
