The Comedy Gallery All-Stars. Thursdays Nov. 1 thru Dec. 27 at 8PM Tickets $10.00!
Pete Borchers won the "Laugh With Louie Anderson" comedy contest. He credits his sense of humor to his ADD and a paralyzing fear of being normal. The birth of his first son is a true test of his commitment to laziness and irresponsibility.
"I had my first childa boyat the end of May. God bless my wife for enduring the unspeakable-ness of childbirth. I don't think I could have done it without her."
Pete's current maturity level and gag reflex, made him woefully ill prepared for the poop-covered minefield that became his life. Pete was fearful of becoming a dad. People told that him he will be a great dad but he worries how they can base that on a guy who has forgotten to take the money at an ATM.
Joe Lovitt has appeared on Twin Cities Standup, Real Comedy, and Comedy Central. Joe worked as a writer/director at a Twin Cities ad agency before it went bankrupt (are you seeing a pattern here?). Then he became a nationally known commercial voice and on-camera talent who also appears frequently in theatrical productions in the Twin Cities. Now he brings to the standup comedy stage his take on politics, media, families, talking goldfish, and dangerous bed sheets. He survives with the help of the world's most understood dog, the world's most misunderstood children and the world's most intelligent, sexy and beautiful wife (who proofreads all his promotional materials).
Margret Blaylock is a Mom, college student, massage therapist, sober cab, stand-up comic, local music fan, and has a little hint of schizophrenia. She has done it all, with equal parts of funny and wit! Blaylock has been working as a comic for the past two years and claims she didn't intend to get into comedy." But after dating a comic and helping him write material, "I realized I'm funnier that he is," Blaylock said.
So Blaylock took to the stage at an open mike event and she was hooked. "I caught the stage bug and I love it," she said.
Margret will have you smiling and laughing at her and with her. Enjoy!
Josh Florhaug reminds you of the kid you beat up in high schoolbecause he probably was. Well don't look over your shoulder because, the terrorized kid is back, has a microphone, and is taking no prisoners!
Josh takes you on an adventure through the life of a guy who was the whitest kid in school, a male cheerleader, product of a dysfunctional family and battle with his sexual identity (My parents still think I am gay!) Josh does things a little differently and keeps you laughing the whole time. Josh gives a timid take on topics such as high school, culinary school and dating. Josh is a rising star in the Minneapolis comedy scene and a must-see act all over the Midwest.
Jon Stambaugh has always been a competitor. He played several sports, including basketball in high school and college, but now he has a much different arena: the comedy stage.
Jon's stand-up routine evolves from that competitiveness and an easily tapped source: his day-to-day world. The source of his routine is everyday life. Things that he finds amusing or annoying, He then turns them into material. In his show Jon takes a number of real-life incidents and makes them jokes.
"I guess you could say it is chicken soup for the soul. The process of starting with a random thought and trying to turn it into something funny is both challenging and fun," Stambaugh says. "I do a lot of observational humor as well as poking fun at my own expense."
"Who would have known ... writing down ideas and working on them forms jokes!"?
