Berks County: Early Industrial History & Heritage
In this trip to Berks County, you'll visit the Gruber Wagon Works (an intact wagon manufacturing complex built in 1882), tour the C. Howard Hiester Canal Center, the adjacent Union Canal lock and the Wertz's Red Bridge (the longest covered bridge in Berks County), and then head to Reading to the Historical Society of Berks County to tour the newly renovated exhibit galleries. Lunch (provided) will be at the Berks Heritage Center.
Motorcoach boards at Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum at 8:45 a.m. Breakfast and lunch are included. Breakfast is served at Landis Valley's Yellow Barn starting at 8 a.m. Trips include walking so proper footwear is essential.
