Music in Corrales 2017-18 31st Anniversary Season Ticket (8 concerts)
The 31st season of Music in Corrales promises to continue our mission of enriching our community with great music. The range of artists and music is truly global in scope from Mexico to the Middle East, from Ireland to Cuba, and plenty of American folk, jazz, and classical in between all selected to delight and inspire you.
The season begins in September with M5 Mexican Brass, Latin Americas most popular brass quintet. October brings Albuquerque resident Rahim Al Haj and his combo for an evening of Middle Eastern music with a contemporary flair. Jazz chanteuse Tierney Sutton and her band arrive in November with American songbook standards as well as original compositions. Brightening the holiday season is Harpeth Rising three classically-trained women who fuse folk, newgrass, rock, and classical music into a heady brew.
In January, the Jasper String Quartet returns to the Old San Ysidro Church for a Friday evening concert of classical and contemporary string music. The dynamic style and vocal acrobatics of mens a capella sextet m-pact showcase the power of the human voice in February. The highly-acclaimed Harlem Quartet joins forces with Cuban pianist and composer Aldo López-Gavilán to dazzle us in March with their commanding range of classical to jazz. And well wrap the season in April with the doyenne of Irish harpers, Máire Ní Chathasaigh, and her virtuoso guitar partner Chris Newman.

EXCEPT FOR THE HARLEM QUARTET WITH ALDO LÓPEZ-GAVILÁN CONCERT on March 4, 2018, all concerts will be held at the Old San Ysidro Church, 966 Old Church Road, Corrales, NM. The Harlem String Quartet and Aldo López-Gavilán concert will be held at the V. Sue Cleveland High School Concert Hall, 4800 Laban Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM.
