Solo Sundays (1/20/13) Maria Affinito & Sara Felder

S A R A   F E L D E R
> "Melancholy, a Comedy"
    (a workshop performance)
As if tackling same-sex weddings in her show "June Bride" and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in "Out of Sight" wasn't enough, Felder's newest comedy investigates the 16th president of the United States and his "melancholia."  Collaging comic monologues, circus routines, video projections and image/object work, Felder juggles the stories of Lincoln of Springfield as well as Amy (of Berkeley.)  You'll meet a grad student, a clown and a woman on the bus in this campy, thoughtful, funny story of the civil war within ourselves.

> "Eating Pasta off the Floor"
     (a workshop performance)
Maria hopes a trip with her mom, to her mom's home town in Italy will shed some light on their volatile relationship. Maybe singing arias at full voice in Safeway and offering to sell your daughter are just quaint Old World traditions. But even old friends in Italy are astonished when mom starts flinging pasta and bad poetry.

Hilarious, Heartbreaking & Provocative Solo Performances
. . . Solo Sundays, S.F.'s premier monthly showcase, presents select samplings of veteran virtuosos and top emerging talent in the intimate Stage Werx Theatre now located in The Mission. Beyond stand-up and storytelling, solo theater creates casts of thousands - plus special effects - all bursting from a single performer. The results are hilarious and heartbreaking, passionate and provocative, ablaze with personal visions. Solo Sundays is produced by Ty McKenzie & Bruce Pachtman.
