Flora The Red Menace. A Musical In Concert
APPLAUSE! Musicals In Concert presents Flora,The Red Menace (1965) Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb. Book by David Thompson. The 1965 production of Flora the Red Menace was the first collaboration by Kander and Ebb, who achieved far greater fame the very next season with their score for the acclaimed and innovative Cabaret, and went on to razzle dazzle theatre audiences with many fine musicals, particularly the endearingly popular stage and screen smash Chicago. Flora is a rollicking romance of charming simplicity set amidst American communist agitation in the1930's. It features some of Kander & Ebb's most charming tunes.
APPLAUSE! Musicals In Concert moves to a new location. The brand new, intimate, PYATT HALL located in the VSO School of Music on Seymour Street right next to the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Vancouver. There is pay parking under the building as well as a number of other pay parking lots in the area. The Granville skytrain station is also just two blocks away if you want to leave your car at home.
