Experiences in an American Concentration Camp
May is recognized nationally as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Cerimon House is honored to welcome longtime Oregon resident George Nakata for a special speaking engagement. Mr. Nakata will share his deeply personal story of being removed from his home in Portland at the age of 9 and incarcerated behind barb wires in American Concentration Camps during the hysteria of World War II.
Please join with us for Mr. Nakatas timely exploration of a historical event that few understand or even believe happened. Q&A and conversation to follow.
Event Details: When:Sunday, May 7th, 5:00 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Concessions stand will have drinks and snacks.
Location: Cerimon House, 5131 NE 23rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97211 Plenty of street and bike parking available.
Tickets: All proceeds to benefit Cerimon House. As this event is a non-profit fundraiser, no refunds will be offered. We thank you for supporting Cerimon House. Sliding scale admission is offered at the door.
