Godspell, Jr.

DMR ADVENTURES will present GODSPELL JR, the culmination of the Broadway Adventure SPRING BREAK CAMP. The production stars a cast of 16 young adults, ages 7-14, from Charlottesville and the surrounding areas.

Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the Broadway musical that inspired a generation.

The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.

A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

We will be in our BRAND NEW SPACE, the Belmont Arts Collaborative. The space is in phase one of completion, and is still not completely finished, but we know you'll be happy to say you were the "first" to see a show here, and we feel that Godspell is the perfect fit for the space. We would love for you to bring a chair you can be comfortable in! We will also have benches, stools, and chairs for audience members. It is important that you "purchase" (sign up for) a ticket so we know how many to expect.
