First Parish Learning Event with Diana Butler Bass
Please join First Parish Church as we continue the celebration of our 300th anniversary with a learning event with Diana Butler Bass, an author, speaker, and independent scholar specializing in American religion and culture. She will help us explore changing perspectives of God and how those changes are affecting our lives as individuals--and as faith communities.
She holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from Duke University and is the author of nine books, including Grounded: Finding God in the WorldA Spiritual Revolution (HarperOne, 2015) and the widely influential Christianity After Religion: The End of Church and the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening (HarperOne, 2012).
Diana regularly speaks at conferences, consults with religious organizations, leads educational events for religious leaders, and teaches and preaches in a variety of venues. She writes and comments on religion, politics, and culture in a number of different media settings.
She and her family live in Alexandria, Virginia.
