Modulus III Live at the Old Barn, Kelston Roundhill
The first date in the Old Barn, Kelston Roundhill's 2017 musical calendar features Modulus III, a Bristol band that's probably unlike any other you've encountered live.
Here's how they describe it: Modulus III operate under one rule: every performance is entirely improvised. No preparation. No safety net. An in the moment exploration of minimalism, textures, beats and overlapping patterns. It is the purest, most dangerous place to make music and precisely why Drew Morgan, Dan Moore and Matt Brown choose to call it home.
Drew Morgan is a classically trained cellist, composer and producer working in film, album production and concert music. Keyboardist Dan Moore plays with Andy Sheppard in Pushy Doctors and in Will Gregory's Moog Ensemble. And in demand drummer Matt Brown also drums for Dakhla Brass.
Modulus III is supported by a new collaboration between Paul Bradley (guitarist, Three Cane Whale) and percussionist Emma Holbrook, called Athea.
