A Tribute to Bill Evans - LIVE Jazz Performance & Film Screening of "Bill Evans - Time Remembered", Director Q & A
Dick Fregulias Bill Evans Tribute Trio was born in 2010 to honor the great jazz pianist, Bill Evans 30 years after his death. The goal of the Tribute Trio is to re-create the style and spirit of the Bill Evans Trios rather than to duplicate the original arrangements, and to ultimately honor the legacy of the Evans trio in the history of piano jazz.
With Fregulia on piano, Piro Patton on bass, and Bill Moody on drums, the trio developed its repertoire playing gigs at Caffe Di Vino in Sausalito and Cafe Claude and Pier 23 in San Francisco. On April 4, 2011, the trio performed at Bach Dancing and Society in Half Moon Bay, recording the sold-out concert and releasing the concert as the Re: Person I Knew CD on Blue Koala Records, which will be available for purchase at the concert or visit the Store at http://www.dickfreguliajazzpiano.com/.
