London Young Sinfonia: 'Cosi fan tutte'

In association with the Bedford Park Festival, the London Young Sinfonia presents a fully-staged production of Mozart's magnificent 'Cosi fan tutte'.

This was Mozart's last collaboration with the librettist Lorenzo da Ponte, written and performed in 1790 only a year before the composer's death. Regarded as one of the finest comic operas, 'Cosi fan tutte' tells of Guglielmo and Ferrando, two soldiers who swear that their lovers (Fiordiligi and Dorabella) will always remain faithful. Don Alfonso, an old and cynical philosopher thinks otherwise, and proposes a bet: Guglielmo and Ferrando must don disguises and try to seduce the other's lover. With the help of the maid Despina, Don Alfonso has one day to prove his point. 'Cosi fan tutte' is a tale of love, naivity, and pride, and is here performed in a witty, modern English translation.
