May Chapter Meeting (Luncheon): Project Management Success Factors
HR Professionals lead projects within HR and across the organization, often in a role where they need to exercise informal leadership and influence. These projects benefit from applying proven project management techniques, yet Information Technology and Capital Construction methods are not appropriate.
This presentation will lead HR Professionals through a practical, proven project management approach that is scaled to fit HR projects and HR leaders.
Participants who attend will be able to:
1.Relate core project management concepts to their own HR and internal improvement projects
2.Engage a team on a new project to recognize the value of good project management practices
3.Use a checklist to facilitate a project improvement review for any kind of project
Eric will lead the audience through two activities that draw on their experience and current responsibilities. The participants will walk through a project kick-off activity, which will teach them to use that activity. The speaker will also lead the audience through a project evaluation check-list, explaining each item sufficiently to enable audience members to apply the checklist to their own projects during the presentation and afterward, back in their office.
Every participant will walk away with a specific team engagement activity that can be used during any project kick-off as well as
a checklist for evaluating and improving every HR project
