Cabaret at the Workshop: Ginger Newman
Vocalist Ginger Newman headlines the next installment of the NJW's new Cabaret at the Workshop series, Saturday, April 15 at 8pm in the Jazz Cave at the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Her show is titled Me and the Boys , and will be a collection of songs usually sung by men about women. This promises to be a lively show, with lots of twists and turns along the way!
The Cabaret at the Workshop series made its debut in the summer of 2015 as the Jazz Workshop's newest offering, a performance series showcasing the art of cabaret and drawing on the Workshop's rich vocal offerings devoted to the American Popular Song.
Ginger Newman has performed in Nashville for over thirty years with leading roles at Tennessee Repertory Theatre and as a featured soloist with the Nashville Symphony under the guest batons of Bill Conti and Marvin Hamlisch. Her cabaret performance, "One Woman Show," has taken her all over the world as a headliner on the luxury ships QE II, the S/S Rotterdam, and the Seven Seas Mariner.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 3 at 10:00 am, and are $25 ($15 for high school and college students). Advance purchase is strongly recommended. Tickets will be available online from Brown Paper Tickets, by phone 24/7 at 800-838-3006, or 615-242-5299 during business hours.
