The DC Square Dance Collective and our friends at the Baltimore Square Dance are teaming up to bring Dare to Be Square to the DC area! This is a fun, affordable, weekend-long gathering and getaway featuring sessions where you can square dance to your hearts content, learn to call your first dance, hone your calling skills (any and all levels), enjoy instrument and singing sessions, learn clogging/flatfooting, explore your crafty side, play lawn games (for real), or take advantage of oodles of opportunities to jam and just hang out!
Kathy Anderson and Phil Jamison, nationally renowned callers with a passion for teaching and mentoring new callers, are joining us, and we couldn't be more excited! They'll lead a variety of workshops for callers and dancers throughout the weekend, delighting us with their extensive repertoire and exhilarating calling.
Oh, did we mention the STELLAR evening dances, with Graham DeZarn (Friday night) and Rachel Eddy (Saturday night) leading the bands? And after-dance bonfires, with smores, yeah, we're having that, too!
